The Cliff’s Blueprint Process™ (CBP), a simple step by step program which was engineered to make the process of design and construction easier for our clients. The 7-step process takes our clients from the first initial call all the way through to our post construction follow-ups.
In the traditional outdated method homeowners would first hire an architect and then a contractor. Because the architect and the contractor have separate interest and goals for the project they are naturally working against each other from the outset.
Our Blueprint Process is an all-in-one system that gives you a devoted team of an architect/designer and builder working as a single team to create you custom living space. The Cliff’s Blueprint Process gives you better control of the project, reduces financial risk, and improves quality. In addition to aforementioned benefits, when the Blueprint System is coupled with our Detailed Project Analysis (DPA) our value package makes the process easier and more simple.

STEP 1 | First Impressions
The first step is a teleconference. This initial phone call is designed to find out what your needs are, why you want to remodel, and what you hope to accomplish. As we get to know each other, we will ask questions to determine if the project is appropriate for our firm. We will ask you about your proposed timeline for both starting and finishing, budget, and the purpose behind the project. The answers to these questions will help guide us to the best solution.
STEP 2 | discovery & brainstorm
You want to know if we are a good fit for your project, but more importantly, that it will be a good working relationship. In our first in person meeting, a project manager will come to your home for a one or two hour brainstorming session. During this time we will be able to get a better idea of the living space and possible solutions. At this time we may ask you to authorize a Detailed Project Analysis (DPA), where we provide fully designed plans, detailed scope of work, and cost analysis.
STEP 3 | design time
We work together by first starting with a concept and then we begin to nail down a final solution through collaboration. We utilize our in house Co-Build™ file sharing system to share ideas from Pinterest, Houzz, etc.. By the end of the design process we will have a design that meets your needs, reflects your style, and falls within your budget range. Upon delivery of our final design drawings we will have produced our construction proposal that includes our detailed scope of work, material selections, payment schedules, and work timelines. Once we have authorized a construction agreement, together we will transition to construction.
STEP 4 | Transition charrette
In this phase we make a smooth transition from design to construction. Your project manager and lead craftsman will meet with you at your home to talk through the details as needed. As a result of this meeting we will have nailed down: work hours, sequence of task, dust containment, safety and clean-up, particular disruptive times, and the like. Your project will not get a start date, but rather a schedule window. We will begin construction as soon as the lead craftsman for your project has completed work for his or her previous client.
STEP 5 | construction
It all comes together. — This is our favorite part of the process. We work diligently to get your project completed in a quality and satisfactory manner. We know that having a part of your home inoperable for a period of time is a disruption to your daily routine. However we like to communicate that a small inconvenience today is necessary to ELEVATE THE QUALITY OF LIFE TOMORROW. You will find that our crews are not only personable and helpful, but that we also respect your property and surrounding neighbors. Minimizing disruption is key. When decisions are needed from you, or unforeseen condition are encountered, these will be brought up at your weekly meeting with the lead craftsman or project manager unless immediate action is required. If these situation affect your budget, you will get a change order detailing the credit or cost.
STEP 6 | COmpletion
Time to turnover the keys. We complete every project with a closeout process with series of walkthroughs and checklists. At this time we may also ask that you give us a honest review. With your final acceptance as the owner we both sign a certificate of completion signifying the start of the warranty period and our complimentary post construction follow ups. We end every project with a client thank you package that you are sure to love.
